South Texas Health System Children's is located in the Rio Grande Valley, at the southern tip of Texas, and is part of the South Texas Health System, which is owned and operated by a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS).
The 107-bed, freestanding pediatric hospital opened adjacent to South Texas Health System Edinburg in March 2006. The first of its kind in South Texas, South Texas Health System Children's features a four-story pediatric tower, a dedicated pediatric emergency department, specialty pediatric services and advanced technology, including the Valleys first 32-slice CT and radioflouroscopy room.
